There have been some big changes in the Twitchy world since I was last able to write a blog post, so I’ve decided that I needed some big changes in my website and presence as well! The biggest change is the name of the blog – Twitchy on the Farm (previously Twitchy Design)!
Last summer, my partner and I purchased the parcel of land on which we’d been living for the last five years. How exciting!!! He and I have always dreamed of owning some land, being as self-sufficient as possible, and having plenty of small-scale hobby farm projects going on all the time.
To that end, we bought 20 acres of (mostly) timber land, complete with a log cabin, a tiny A-frame cottage, two large, spring-fed ponds, some giant trees, and plenty of solitude. We hope to clear some of the trees to open up space for a large garden, build a couple of animal sheds, and start getting our hands dirty raising chickens, goats, pigs, and maybe even a few sheep!
Along the way, I’ll chronicle our adventures, projects, successes, and perhaps even some failures (depending on how hilarious they are!). Of course, I’ll also be letting you all know about my crafty endeavors, since there’s always something twitching in my brain 🙂
I have one last big change brewing in my world, a pretty all-consuming one, that I can’t wait to share with you all. Until then, though, I’ll spend the next few weeks cataloging some of the more exciting things that happened this summer.
Cheers!
